- ¿Cómo definiría el concepto de lenguaje inclusivo y por qué cree que es cada vez más demandado en el entorno empresarial y social actual?
Lenguaje inclusivo es el que no deja a nadie atrás, el que resulta comprensible para todas las personas. La sociedad actual es cada vez más sensible a la diversidad. Hoy en día nos parece una barbaridad fumar delante de un recién nacido porque sabemos el impacto que el tabaco produce no solo en la persona que fuma si no en la que aspira el humo. De la misma manera vamos aprendiendo que la diversidad en los equipos aporta un extra de conocimiento sobre la sociedad. Llegar a todas las realidades es más necesario que nunca por responsabilidad social y por supuesto, por rentabilidad empresarial.
- ¿Qué impacto tiene el lenguaje en la forma en que percibimos la realidad y en el reconocimiento de derechos de todas las personas, según su experiencia profesional?
Por un lado, las palabras tienen connotaciones. No es lo mismo decir que hemos tenido una rentabilidad del 10% a que hemos tenido unos gastos del 90%, aunque el resultado sea el mismo.
Por otro, si las personas recibimos comunicaciones que no entendemos, nos “hacemos pequeñitos” y no reclamamos. Si no lo entiendes, no es un derecho.
- Desde Nuadda Translations, ¿cómo ayudan a empresas e instituciones a comunicar de manera clara, accesible y respetuosa con todas las identidades, géneros y capacidades?
Cuando las empresas entienden que la comunicación clara y accesible ahorra tiempo porque disminuye las consultas o aumenta las ventas, vamos por buen camino. Ven un beneficio claro tangible. A partir de ahí se construye y empiezan los beneficios intangibles, como la mejora reputacional. La máxima es ponerse en la piel del otro. Si el ciudadano o cliente percibe que la empresa le entiende, será un cliente más leal.
- ¿Cuáles son los principales retos que afrontan las organizaciones cuando buscan implementar estrategias de comunicación con lenguaje inclusivo?
La resistencia al cambio. Una reacción habitual es la actitud de “siempre lo hemos hecho así”. Es humano, pero todo cambia cuando nos vemos reflejados y entendemos que la accesibilidad es buena para todos, ya que pasaremos por alguna incapacidad temporal. Una vez que tenemos formación en este sentido, empiezan a cambiar cosas interesantes pero se deben validar con los grupos a los que nos dirigimos, si no, estamos especulando sobre su impacto.
- ¿Podría compartir algún caso de éxito donde la adopción del lenguaje claro e inclusivo haya generado una transformación significativa interna o externa en la organización?
La formación en lenguaje claro bien realizada transforma las organizaciones. Una vez mana por toda la entidad, se crean dinámicas muy interesantes, como nuevos servicios para atender a poblaciones ignoradas e incluso líneas de negocio específicas por ejemplo, para personas mayores, que tienen necesidades muy concretas.
- ¿Qué recomendaciones prácticas ofrece para que las empresas estructuren sus mensajes y documentos de forma inclusiva sin perder claridad y precisión?
La más importante es intentar ponerse en la piel de nuestro público. Usemos términos neutros, como personas o equipo. Es mejor escribir en frases cortas y directas para que no resulten complejas de procesar.
Hay que trabajar también en la estructura del documento. Con cambios sencillos, como organizar la información en secciones, usar listas o utilizar ejemplos sin estereotipos, se facilita la lectura y retenemos la atención de nuestros lectores.
- Mirando al futuro, ¿qué rol jugarán la inteligencia artificial y las nuevas tecnologías en la traducción y adaptación de mensajes inclusivos aplicados a la gestión de talento y diversidad?
Las tecnologías sirven para ser más eficientes. En concreto, la Inteligencia artificial nos ayuda a amplificar nuestro trabajo. En el caso de la traducción o cualquier tipo de redacción, como la adaptación, nos servimos de la tecnología para elaborar un primer borrador o para afinar contenido ya trabajado.
La irrupción de la IA, además, nos ha permitido darnos cuenta de los sesgos que tenemos y nos facilita mejorar en ese aspecto.
