Según el Informe Europeo de Pagos de Consumidores de Intrum, el porcentaje de españoles que se ha retrasado en el abono de alguna factura en el último año es actualmente del 10%, frente al 22% registrado en la anterior edición del estudio.
En los últimos seis meses, únicamente el 20% de los encuestados en España ha necesitado recurrir a préstamos para cumplir con sus obligaciones financieras.
Los primeros meses del año suelen corresponderse con un periodo de ajustes y desafíos financieros para muchas familias, tras los gastos navideños y el comienzo de un nuevo ciclo. Sin embargo, este inicio de ejercicio llega con señales de alivio, impulsadas por factores como el crecimiento de la renta disponible o el buen comportamiento del mercado laboral. Unas circunstancias que están contribuyendo a reducir la presión económica y promover una mayor estabilidad en las finanzas de los hogares españoles, reflejándose en su mejorada capacidad para afrontar compromisos financieros cotidianos como el pago de facturas.
Así se refleja en la última edición del Informe Europeo de Pagos de Consumidores de Intrum, un estudio que examina la situación financiera de los ciudadanos de 20 países europeos. Según este análisis, únicamente el 10% de los españoles reconoce haber incumplido el pago de alguna de sus facturas durante el último año, 12 puntos porcentuales menos que en la edición anterior del estudio. Una cifra que, además, es inferior a la media europea (25%).
España se sitúa, así, como el país con menor porcentaje de ciudadanos que se han visto en la obligación de no abonar algún recibo en el último año, ligeramente por detrás de Portugal (13%) y Francia (17%). En el extremo opuesto, Dinamarca encabezan el listado con un 37%, mientras que Finlandia, que registra un 35%, y Grecia, Austria y Noruega, con un 34%, destacan entre los territorios donde los retrasos en los pagos son más frecuentes.
Esta fortaleza financiera de los hogares en nuestro país se refleja también en una menor necesidad de recurrir a la deuda para cubrir gastos esenciales. En este sentido, según el estudio de Intrum, en los últimos 6 meses, únicamente el 20% de los españoles ha tenido que pedir dinero prestado o ha alcanzado el límite de su tarjeta de crédito para poder pagar sus facturas. Un indicador que supone una leve mejora respecto a la edición previa (22%), y que se sitúa muy por debajo de la media europea (37%).
España, el país con más consumidores con capacidad de afrontar imprevistos
La coyuntura favorable ha permitido también a muchos hogares mantener una estabilidad, incluso frente a imprevistos económicos. De acuerdo con el Informe Europeo de Pagos de Consumidores, el 79% de la población española afirma que podría afrontar un desembolso inesperado de 200 € sin necesidad de endeudarse, reforzando la percepción de una mayor solidez.
Este porcentaje coloca nuevamente a España en la primera posición del ranking, con una diferencia considerable respecto a la media europea, que se sitúa en el 61%. Le siguen de cerca Italia (74%), Irlanda (73%) y Alemania (68%), mientras que Hungría (52%), Austria (50%) y Grecia (47%) presentan los niveles más bajos.
Estos datos reflejan una mejora en los hábitos de pago y en la capacidad de las familias españolas para gestionar sus finanzas y un cambio en la percepción de las obligaciones financieras. No obstante, para mantener este avance, se convierte en esencial tomar decisiones financieras prudentes e informadas.
