En esta conversación con Periódico del Talento, Margarita comparte su mirada estratégica y humana sobre cómo la innovación puede convertirse en motor de transformación, y adelanta los ejes que marcarán esta nueva edición del Startup Challenge.
1. Visión estratégica y humana frente a los retos globales
Pregunta: Desde tu experiencia, ¿cómo pueden las organizaciones y la sociedad abordar los desafíos emergentes en IA, tecnología, sostenibilidad y justicia social manteniendo una perspectiva estratégica y, al mismo tiempo, profundamente humana?
Respuesta: Para abordar los desafíos emergentes en IA, tecnología, sostenibilidad y justicia social, necesitamos transformar la manera en que concebimos la innovación empresarial. No se trata solo de generar soluciones nuevas, sino de repensar cómo las organizaciones operan, se relacionan con su entorno y asumen su impacto. En un contexto tan dinámico, es clave construir ecosistemas colaborativos que alineen propósito, tecnología y valores humanos. El liderazgo que necesitamos es aquel que actúa con convicción, coherencia y compromiso profundo con las personas y el planeta.
2. Innovación con propósito: aprendizajes clave
Pregunta: En tu trayectoria impulsando emprendimientos de innovación con impacto social y ambiental, ¿qué aprendizajes o principios consideras imprescindibles para que un proyecto realmente promueva un cambio significativo y sostenible?
Respuesta: Uno de los aprendizajes más importantes ha sido entender que el impacto se diseña, no se improvisa. Para que un proyecto genere un cambio significativo y sostenible, debe partir de un propósito claro, estar profundamente conectado con el contexto y tener una visión sistémica. Es clave integrar la sostenibilidad en el modelo de negocio desde el inicio, no como un accesorio. También es fundamental construir alianzas sólidas entre emprendedores, inversores y sector público, y establecer formas honestas de medir el valor generado. Solo así podemos avanzar hacia soluciones que transformen realidades de forma duradera.
3. Ética en la IA y su integración en el emprendimiento
Pregunta: La ética en la inteligencia artificial es uno de los focos en los que trabajáis. ¿Cómo crees que los emprendedores y las organizaciones pueden integrar la IA de manera ética desde una etapa temprana de desarrollo?
Respuesta: La ética debe estar integrada desde el inicio en cualquier proceso de innovación, especialmente en el desarrollo de inteligencia artificial. Para las personas emprendedoras, esto implica incorporar principios como la transparencia, la equidad y la responsabilidad desde las primeras fases del diseño. Es clave rodearse de equipos diversos, escuchar a las comunidades afectadas y evaluar el impacto social y ambiental de la tecnología. La IA debe tener un por qué, no debe ser solo eficiente, sino también justa y alineada con valores que promuevan el bienestar colectivo.
4. Startup Challenge como motor del cambio
Pregunta: ¿Qué rol cumple el Startup Challenge dentro del ecosistema del The Gap in Between, y de qué modo impulsa a los emprendedores para que sus soluciones con impacto logren una mayor visibilidad y escalabilidad? (Esta edición tendrá lugar el 21 de octubre de 2025, en La Marina de Valencia, y se enmarca en el evento The Gap in Between, organizado por Social Nest Foundation).
Respuesta: El Startup Challenge es una pieza clave dentro del ecosistema de The Gap in Between, ya que permite identificar y visibilizar a las startups más innovadoras que están abordando retos sociales y ambientales. Al ofrecerles un espacio para presentar sus soluciones ante inversores, corporaciones y actores del ecosistema global, les damos la oportunidad de escalar su impacto y conectar con aliados estratégicos que les permita desarrollarse a futuro. Este tipo de iniciativas refuerzan nuestro compromiso desde Social Nest Foundation de impulsar el emprendimiento con propósito y fomentar colaboraciones que generen una transformación real.
5. Temas prioritarios: ciudades, regeneración y resiliencia
Pregunta: Este año el Startup Challenge se organiza en torno a tres temáticas: «Ciudades del mañana», «De la extracción a la regeneración» y «Resiliencia socioeconómica». ¿Podrías profundizar en por qué estas tres áreas son clave para construir un futuro más justo y sostenible?
Respuesta: Estas tres áreas son fundamentales porque abordan desafíos urgentes y sistémicos. Las ciudades concentran gran parte de la población y del consumo, por lo que repensarlas es clave para un futuro sostenible. Pasar de modelos extractivos a regenerativos nos permite cuidar los recursos y restaurar ecosistemas. Y fortalecer la resiliencia socioeconómica es esencial para que las personas y comunidades puedan adaptarse y prosperar ante los cambios. Estas temáticas no solo orientan el tipo de innovación que necesitamos, sino que marcan el camino hacia una transformación profunda. Impulsar soluciones en estos ámbitos es apostar por un futuro donde el progreso esté alineado con el bienestar colectivo y la regeneración del planeta.
6. Alianzas y solidaridad: impacto post-DANA
Pregunta: En esta edición, los ingresos del evento se destinan a proyectos de recuperación post-DANA, en colaboración con Fundación Felisa, ¿Cómo fortalecen estas iniciativas el vínculo entre la innovación con impacto y la solidaridad en situaciones de emergencia?
Respuesta: Cuando ocurre una emergencia como la DANA, el ecosistema emprendedor debe responder no solo con innovación, sino también con empatía y acción directa. Por eso, en esta edición de The Gap in Between, decidimos destinar los ingresos del evento a proyectos de recuperación, en colaboración con Fundación Felisa. Esta iniciativa refuerza el vínculo entre el emprendimiento con impacto y la solidaridad, mostrando que las soluciones que transforman el futuro también pueden atender las urgencias del presente. Es una forma de activar el compromiso colectivo y demostrar que el impacto empieza por cuidar lo que tenemos cerca.
7. El legado de Social Nest Foundation y futuro
