- En su edición de 2024, se financió la investigación de un equipo de la Universidad de Burgos que estudia las estalagmitas para profundizar en los cambios climáticos y la evolución del campo magnético terrestre.
- Ambas entidades también colaboran en la puesta en marcha del GeoFest, una propuesta multidisciplinar que reúne música, teatro, artes plásticas y literatura en un entorno único.
Galletas Gullón, en el marco de su compromiso por la protección de su entorno, ha renovado por quinto año consecutivo su colaboración con la Asociación para la Reserva Geológica de Las Loras (ARGEOL) con el objetivo de continuar trabajando de manera conjunta en la conservación del patrimonio natural y cultural del Geoparque Mundial UNESCO Las Loras.
Gracias a la renovación de este convenio, Galletas Gullón financiará de nuevo iniciativas de investigación académica que pongan en valor la riqueza medioambiental y geológica del Geoparque, estudios sociales del territorio o la mejora de la calidad de vida y la sostenibilidad en el entorno.
Además, la galletera de Aguilar de Campoo fomenta el voluntariado ambiental entre sus empleados, llevando a cabo actividades relacionadas con la reforestación, la limpieza de los bosques o la conservación del entorno.
En palabras de Lourdes Gullón, presidenta de Galletas Gullón, “este acuerdo refleja nuestro compromiso con la investigación, la cultura y la dinamización de nuestro entorno. Por ello, nos enorgullece especialmente apoyar un proyecto que no solo pone en valor el patrimonio natural y cultural de Las Loras, sino que también genera un impacto positivo en la sociedad y en la calidad de vida de nuestros vecinos”.
Por su parte, José Ángel Sánchez, director científico del Geoparque, ha destacado que “el apoyo que estamos recibiendo desde hace ya cinco años por parte de Galletas Gullón resulta clave para impulsar la investigación en este enclave natural de gran valor, cuyos frutos no solo nos permite avanzar en su protección y conservación, sino obtener resultados científicos de utilidad para toda la sociedad”.
Investigación para poner en valor un entorno único
En concreto, la Beca Gullón a la investigación en el Geoparque Las Loras 2025, dotada con un máximo de 4.000 euros, tendrá en cuenta los contenidos y el carácter innovador de los proyectos, la paridad de los equipos y su repercusión para el Geoparque. El plazo de presentación de solicitudes comprenderá desde que se publique la convocatoria en la página web del Geoparque este 26 de septiembre hasta el 24 de octubre a las 14 horas, dándose a conocer la decisión final no más tarde del 10 de noviembre
En su edición de 2024, la beca fue concedida a un equipo del Laboratorio de Paleomagnetismo de la Universidad de Burgos, que se encuentra analizando las estalagmitas de la Cueva de los Franceses para profundizar en los cambios climáticos y en la evolución del campo magnético terrestre a lo largo del tiempo.
Gracias a esta investigación, el equipo coordinado por Elisa María Sánchez Moreno obtendrá datos históricos sobre el clima y el campo magnético de la Tierra que ayudarán a entender mejor los patrones climáticos pasados y cómo el campo magnético terrestre ha cambiado con el tiempo, permitiendo obtener una información que resultará fundamental para investigaciones en cambio climático y conservación ambiental.
Geofest, cultura y naturaleza
La colaboración entre Galletas Gullón y ARGEOL no termina aquí. Ambas entidades colaboran en el II Geofestival de Artes Escénicas del Geoparque UNESCO Las Loras, más conocido como GeoFest, que ha tenido lugar del 14 de junio al 30 de agosto.
El GeoFest nace como una propuesta multidisciplinar que reúne música, teatro, artes plásticas y literatura en un entorno único declarado Geoparque por la UNESCO, y que promueve la participación ciudadana, la dinamización del medio rural y la difusión de la riqueza geológica y paisajística del entorno. De este modo, se pretende ofrecer una alternativa de ocio de calidad a los vecinos y visitantes de Las Loras y poniendo en valor el rico patrimonio geológico, natural y cultural de la región.
La colaboración entre Galletas Gullón y ARGEOL está incluida dentro del Plan Director de Negocio Responsable de Galletas Gullón. Esta iniciativa contribuye al cumplimiento de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) establecidos por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU).
