Madrid, 19 de marzo de 2025.- El teletrabajo se consolida como fórmula. Cerca del 15% de los empleados españoles utiliza el teletrabajo de forma regular para cumplir con sus obligaciones laborales, según los datos del Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE) del cierre de 2024.
Más concretamente, el 14,6% de los empleados españoles teletrabajan, la cifra más elevada de los últimos tres años y sólo superada en la época de los confinamientos, cuando acudir a una oficina o puesto de trabajo físico requería una autorización especial. Además, desde finales de 2021 y a medida que las restricciones provocadas por el Covid-19 se fueron levantando, la tendencia a teletrabajar no solo no ha disminuido, sino que se ha incrementado.
“Los nuevos modelos de trabajo híbridos están consolidándose en España y en el resto de los países desarrollados como consecuencia de una demanda por parte de los empleados de implementar medidas que faciliten la conciliación entre la vida laboral y la personal”, señala Oriol Mas, director general de Randstad Enterprise.
Antes del estallido de la pandemia del Covid-19, el teletrabajo tenía una presencia marginal entre los empleados y, en 2019, menos del 5% de los ocupados trabajaban desde casa más de la mitad de los días. Con la irrupción de la pandemia y la obligación de confinarse, el porcentaje de empleados que pasaron a teletrabajar se disparó y, aunque desde las cifras máximas ha descendido, la tendencia no solo se mantiene, sino que va avanzando año tras año.
En un entorno laboral en constante cambio, las prioridades de los trabajadores han cambiado, según el último Informe Workmonitor de Randstad, que analiza las tendencias y demandas laborales en 35 países, incluido España, mediante más de 26.000 encuestas realizadas a trabajadores. El informe revela que el 53% de los empleados estaría dispuesto a renunciar a su trabajo si éste le impidiera disfrutar de su vida personal, mientras que el 39,2% haría lo mismo si sus peticiones de flexibilidad no fueran atendidas. En el caso de los trabajadores españoles, el 39% estaría dispuesto a reducir sus ingresos si el empleo permitiera una mayor conciliación con su vida personal.
Madrid lidera el teletrabajo
El 14,6% de trabajadores que realiza teletrabajo se divide en prácticamente partes iguales entre aquellos que lo hacen de forma habitual y aquellos que solo ocasionalmente. Así, según los datos del INE, el 7,5% del total de empleados teletrabaja de forma habitual, es decir, más de la mitad de los días de la semana; mientras que el 7,1% restante lo hace lo que se entiende como ocasionalmente o menos de la mitad de los días de la semana.
Por comunidades autónomas, la Comunidad de Madrid es la que lidera el teletrabajo con el 25,9% del total de trabajadores utilizando esta modalidad. El 13,5% lo hace de forma habitual, es decir, más de la mitad de los días de la semana, mientras que el 12,4% lo hace ocasionalmente. Tras Madrid, le siguen Cataluña (con el 16,2% de personas teletrabajando de forma regular u ocasionalmente), Comunitat Valenciana (14,4%), País Vasco (13,1%) y Galicia (12,4%).
Por el contrario, las comunidades que cuentan con menos empleados que utilizan el modelo híbrido de trabajo son La Rioja -con solo el 6,3% del total-, Canarias (8,2%), Navarra (9%), Castilla y León (9,3%) y la Región de Murcia (9,4%).
