Madrid, 10 de julio de 2025.- La Asociación Española de Empresas de Consultoría(AEC) ha elegido a Marta Zárate como nueva vicepresidenta segunda de su Junta Directiva. Zárate es miembro de este órgano de gobierno de la AEC en representación de KPMG desde 2022, puso en marcha y ha presidido la Comisión de Comunicación hasta mayo del 2025 y actualmente preside la Comisión de Regulación.
La AEC, que representa a cerca del 70% del sector de la consultoría y las tecnologías de la información en España, refuerza así su estructura directiva con un perfil de reconocido prestigio y con experiencia en el diseño de las diferentes actividades de la asociación. “Es un honor asumir esta responsabilidad para seguir impulsando la excelencia en el sector a través de la AEC. La consultoría es fundamental para la competitividad del tejido empresarial y la modernización de las administraciones públicas”, ha señalado Zárate.
José María Beneyto, presidente de la AEC, ha destacado que este nombramiento “refuerza la visión estratégica y el compromiso con la innovación en los órganos de gobierno. Su experiencia y trayectoria en el sector será fundamental para anticiparse a los retos que plantea el actual escenario de incertidumbre geopolítica, económica y tecnológica”.
Zárate cuenta con una sólida experiencia en el ámbito jurídico, corporativo y de compliance. Desde 2011, ejerce como General Counsel de KPMG, donde forma parte del Steering Committee de KPMG Internacional, el Comité de Operaciones, el Órgano de Prevención Penal y el Comité de Corporate Affais, entre otros.
Tras sus estudios universitarios en Psicología y Derecho, cursó un LL.M en la Universidad de Harvard, donde publicó además una Tesis en Mayo del 2000 en la que anticipaba la complejidad de la validación legal de la firma digital en un entorno global. Además, ha completado un Programa de Dirección General en IESE, es International Compliance Officer por ASCOM y diplomada en Global Corporate Compliance por la NYU Law School. Abogada ejerciente en el ICAM desde 1998, ha ocupado posiciones de liderazgo en entidades de referencia como la presidencia del Harvard Club Women’s Alliance, y ha colaborado con Iberian Lawyers, ASCOM, el Instituto de Gobernanza y Sociedad y Women in a Legal World, entre otras.
En el ámbito de la docencia, imparte clases en la Universidad Camilo José Cela, la Carlos III de Madrid, UNIR y la NYU School. Asimismo, forma parte del Consejo Académico de la Universidad Carlos III desde el 2017 y es asesora del Consejo de Administración del Grupo Mutua de Propietarios.
En 2022 se incorporó a la Junta Directiva de la AEC en representación de KPMG y, tras presidir la Comisión de Comunicación, actualmente se encuentra al frente de la Comisión de Regulación. El pasado 4 de julio fue nombrada vicepresidenta segunda de la AEC por la Junta Directiva de la asociación.
