Barcelona, 3 de diciembre de 2025.— La cadena de supermercados Lidl ha sido galardonada con el máximo reconocimiento del sector retail europeo: el European Commerce Award 2025 en la categoría de Sostenibilidad. El premio, entregado anoche en Bruselas por EuroCommerce, reconoce la ‘Estrategia de Alimentación Consciente’ de Lidl, basada en la Dieta de Salud Planetaria, un modelo que busca el equilibrio entre la salud humana y la sostenibilidad del entorno en la producción de alimentos.
“En Lidl, llevamos años apostando por facilitar el acceso a una alimentación más saludable, consciente y completa para nuestros clientes. Entendemos que transformar nuestra cesta de la compra no es solo una oportunidad de negocio, sino una responsabilidad ineludible con las personas y con el planeta. Los European Commerce Awards son considerados el máximo reconocimiento a la excelencia, la innovación y el liderazgo en el sector del comercio europeo. Precisamente, la categoría de Sostenibilidad, en la que Lidl ha resultado ganador, pone en valor a los proyectos que reducen el impacto en el planeta y promueven prácticas circulares y consumo responsable a través de toda la cadena de valor, estando, además, alineados con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) de la ONU.
Estrategia de Alimentación Consciente, el proyecto ganador
El jurado ha destacado el liderazgo de la cadena de supermercados y su firme compromiso para impulsar la transformación del sistema alimentario hacia un modelo más justo, saludable y sostenible. El proyecto galardonado, la ‘Estrategia de Nutrición Consciente basada en la Dieta de Salud Planetaria’, se fundamenta en una propuesta científica clara: promover una dieta equilibrada con mayor presencia de fuentes de origen vegetal y, consecuentemente, un menor impacto en huella de carbono.
Para materializar esta estrategia y transformar su surtido, Lidl ha establecido objetivos claros y medibles. En cuanto a la composición nutricional, la compañía se fijó la meta de reducir un 20% el contenido de azúcar y sal. Gracias a este compromiso, ya ha reducido un 16% el contenido de sal y un 22% el de azúcar en más de 500 productos. Además, como muestra de su liderazgo, Lidl fue el primer supermercado en cumplir los objetivos de la estrategia NAOS, cuyo enfoque principal es la prevención de la obesidad. Paralelamente, y en línea con su política de comunicación responsable, la cadena ya está eliminando los reclamos visuales orientados a niños y niñas en sus productos de marca propia con un perfil nutricional menos favorable.
Reforzando este enfoque en las opciones saludables, Lidl impulsa la oferta de proteínas vegetales a través de su marca Vemondo. Con esta misma misión, la compañía se ha fijado el ambicioso objetivo de que para 2030, el 20% de sus productos con cereales sean integrales, garantizando, como mínimo, una referencia integral en todas las familias de productos relevantes dentro de España.
