Madrid, 30 de enero de 2025. Las competencias técnicas que inicialmente permiten a los profesionales avanzar en su carrera laboral son sólo el primer paso para quienes aspiran a ocupar puestos de dirección. En este sentido, la inteligencia emocional (IE) es una habilidad crítica a la hora de liderar equipos en tiempos de transición como en el que nos encontramos. Los líderes con altos niveles de inteligencia emocional pueden crear una cultura de confianza y respeto, esencial para fomentar un ambiente de trabajo positivo. Además, son capaces de entender y manejar sus propias emociones. Esto les permite responder a las situaciones con calma y claridad, evitando reacciones impulsivas que puedan dañar las relaciones laborales.

En este contexto, Wyser, la firma de Gi Group Holding, que ofrece soluciones de Búsqueda y Selección de Directivos, ha elaborado un listado con las 5 competencias clave con las que cuenta un líder con inteligencia emocional:

1. Autoconciencia. Este aspecto es fundamental e implica comprender las propias emociones y su impacto en el trabajo y en los demás. Aumentar la autoconciencia puede mejorar drásticamente la dinámica del trabajo en equipo y la eficacia personal.

2. Autogestión. Es una capacidad que resulta crucial para el liderazgo. La autogestión implica controlar las propias emociones, especialmente cuando se dan escenarios donde predomina el estrés. Se trata de pasar de una reacción instintiva a una respuesta reflexiva, garantizando una actuación positiva.

3. Motivación. Ser líder no sólo implica dirigir o gestionar, sino también tener la habilidad de inspirar y motivar a su equipo para alcanzar logros significativos. Los buenos líderes suelen destacar por su capacidad para afrontar desafíos creativos, promover el aprendizaje continuo y fomentar el trabajo bien hecho. Además, para estos perfiles, la motivación no se limita a la consecución de objetivos, también abarca la capacidad de despertar entusiasmo, alimentar la pasión por el trabajo y fortalecer el compromiso del equipo, incluso en los momentos más desafiantes.

4. Habilidades sociales. La capacidad de influir y resolver positivamente las dinámicas interpersonales es vital. La resolución eficaz de conflictos y el fomento de relaciones sólidas y respetuosas son características de los líderes con una alta inteligencia emocional.

5. Empatía. De todas las cualidades que integran la inteligencia emocional esta es la más reconocible. Para el liderazgo, esta cualidad no significa adueñarse de las emociones ajenas y complacer a los demás, sino considerar las emociones y sentimientos de los trabajadores para tomar decisiones correctas. Una escucha activa ayudará a que trabajen mejor y a generar confianza en la compañía.
