La tecnología avanza a pasos agigantados y de forma muy rápida. En este contexto, la capacitación digital es, más que una habilidad esencial para no quedarse atrás. En este sentido y totalmente alineado con los principios de la OCDE, Banco Santander ha asumido un papel protagónico en la promoción de la educación financiera con una gran repercusión. Y lo hace a través de Finanzas para Mortales, el programa estrella de educación financiera promovido por la entidad. En él, más de 450 profesionales voluntarios de Santander han participado como formadores en los más de 1.660 talleres que se han impartido en España en 2024, lo que supone un 59% más de actividad respecto a 2023.
Educación financiera al alcance de todos
Desde que se creó en 2013, el programa ‘Finanzas para Mortales’ ha querido acercar la economía y las finanzas a diversos sectores de la población: desde la edición Sénior, con personas mayores de 65 años, hasta la edición Junior, diseñada para niños de primaria, pasando por la edición Inclusiva, enfocada en personas con discapacidad intelectual, este proyecto responde a una amplia gama de necesidades y demandas dependiendo del colectivo al que se dirige. Y es que la versatilidad es, sin duda, una de las fortalezas de este prestigioso programa que cuenta con el reconocimiento de instituciones como el Banco de España y la Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores.
Finanzas para Mortales edición Sénior tiene como objetivo acercar estas ideas a uno de los sectores más vulnerables de la transformación digital: las personas mayores de 65 años que, a lo largo de su vida, quizá no han tenido contacto con ciertas tecnologías que ahora se exigen para infinidad de trámites cotidianos. Algunos de los conceptos clave que se imparten en los talleres son sobre ciberseguridad, formación básica sobre banca digital y el uso de los cajeros automáticos y de Correos Cash.
Por otro lado, y bajo el lema «Financieros del Futuro», la entidad bancaria lanzó la Edición Junior destinada a estudiantes de primaria que pone el foco en la educación financiera temprana como un pilar fundamental para la inclusión que no solo sirve para acercarse de manera sencilla una economía más familiar, sino también para adquirir habilidades que les ayuden a tomar decisiones financieras responsables en el futuro.
Estos talleres están organizados en tres niveles de conocimiento: un contenido específico para 1º y 2º de Primaria, que aborda conceptos como el dinero y las tarjetas a través de juegos y resolución de problemas sencillos; otro contenido para 3º y 4º, al que se suman conceptos como el trabajo y el sueldo, y un tercer nivel para 5º y 6º de Primaria que también aborda la planificación y el presupuesto, el concepto del ahorro, o cómo analizar el resultado de tus ingresos y gastos, entre otros temas.
Una tercera pata de este proyecto es la denominada Edición Inclusiva de Finanzas para Mortales, dirigida a personas con discapacidad intelectual y del desarrollo. Diseñado con la asesoría de expertos en inclusión, se ofrecen talleres con contenidos visuales, gráficos y un lenguaje sencillo, cuyos contenidos se han desarrollado con el asesoramiento de expertos de Plena Inclusión, se imparten bajo el título ‘Finanzas fáciles de comprender’.
Además de estos, se imparten otros – también elaborados a medida- para personas privadas de libertad en los distintos centros penitenciarios de España; para emprendedores sociales o para jóvenes con mayores conocimientos.
Desde 2015, el Banco ha elevado en un 92% sus talleres de educación financiera y también el número de beneficiarios, que se han incrementado un 126% en 2024 respecto al año anterior y suman 174.300 participantes en los últimos 10 años. Además, el pasado año se reforzaron los talleres destinados a personas mayores y los dirigidos a jóvenes se incrementaron en un 54%.
Según Marta Aisa, directora de Sostenibilidad de Santander España, “sin duda el balance es muy positivo. Hemos ayudado a miles de personas a lo largo de estos años a hacerles más comprensibles las finanzas cotidianas y los productos financieros básicos; hemos recogido un enorme feedback positivo por parte de los participantes en los talleres y cada día nos demandan más formación”.
Galicia lidera la actividad formativa a nivel nacional
Por Comunidades Autónomas, la de Galicia ha sido la más activa en cuanto a actividad formativa realizada, con 565 sesiones celebradas en sus municipios y ciudades – un 46% más que el año anterior- y una demanda creciente por parte de instituciones, colegios y ONG. Le siguen Castilla y León, con 265 talleres celebrados y Andalucía, cuyos voluntarios han impartido 247 sesiones, especialmente en las provincias de Almería, Jaén y Sevilla.
Los más de 450 profesionales voluntarios del Santander, además de demostrar tener un claro impacto social, hacen posible que estas iniciativas lleguen a todos los rincones de la sociedad para equipar a las personas con los conocimientos y habilidades necesarios para construir un futuro más seguro y próspero para todos.
