Organizados por la Asociación Nacional de Empresas de Eficiencia Energética (A3E), estos galardones celebran su duodécima edición reconociendo a las empresas e instituciones que impulsan la eficiencia energética, la sostenibilidad medioambiental y la adopción de tecnologías que contribuyen a una economía baja en carbono. La entrega de premios tuvo lugar el 30 de octubre en Sevilla, durante la Gala de la Eficiencia Energética y la Sostenibilidad.
El proyecto Mission to Zero ha convertido la planta de Niessen, en funcionamiento desde 1914, en un referente de sostenibilidad industrial dentro de ABB Electrification. Entre 2019 y 2025, la fábrica ha reducido un 30% su consumo energético (1,1 GWh/año), eliminado las emisiones derivadas del uso de combustibles fósiles mediante bombas de calor (-205 tCO₂e/año) y alcanzando el 100% de energía procedente de fuentes renovables, a lo que contribuyen los 582 kWp de paneles fotovoltaicos instalados. Estos avances se enmarcan en la hoja de ruta global de ABB para lograr operaciones neutras en carbono y con residuo cero en 2050.
“Este reconocimiento pone de relieve el liderazgo de ABB en la transición hacia una industria más eficiente y sostenible, así como el compromiso de nuestro equipo en España para acelerar la descarbonización a través de la innovación, la digitalización y la electrificación”, afirmó Inaki Lete, director de la fábrica Niessen de ABB.
