INFORME JÓVENES Y DISCAPACIDAD: El 67% de los jóvenes con discapacidad cree que no podrá dedicarse a su vocación por barreras en la educación, las empresas y la sociedad.
La tasa de paro entre los jóvenes con discapacidad alcanza el 45,2%, más del doble que la media general de personas con discapacidad (19,2%) y muy por encima del 26,5% registrado entre sus coetáneos sin discapacidad.
El Informe Jóvenes con discapacidad, motor de futuro, un análisis que basa sus conclusiones en una encuesta a 97 personas con discapacidad entre 18 y 30 años, de las cuales un 80% está buscando trabajo y un 20% ya ha encontrado empleo.
En esta edición, el informe pone el foco en las dificultades adicionales que afrontan los jóvenes con discapacidad para formarse en aquello que les gusta y poder dedicarse a ello profesionalmente. Asimismo, se subrayan las barreras que persisten en los procesos de selección, y que siguen limitando sus oportunidades de empleo.
Esta son las principales conclusiones:
· Actualmente se contabilizan 9.560 jóvenes con discapacidad inscritos como demandantes de empleo en España.
· El 85% de los jóvenes con discapacidad tiene aspiraciones profesionales claras, pero casi 7 de cada 10 cree que no podrá cumplirlas.
· Entre todas las vocaciones mencionadas por los jóvenes con discapacidad destacan aquellas relacionadas con la inteligencia artificial (17,1%), la psicología (14,3%), la informática y la atención al cliente (ambas con un 11,4%), áreas que combinan la tecnología, la creatividad y el compromiso con las personas.
· La encuesta revela importantes barreras que siguen afrontando los jóvenes con discapacidad en su acceso a la educación y al empleo. Más de la mitad (55,2%) afirma que, durante su etapa escolar, no recibió el acompañamiento necesario para identificar y potenciar sus talentos. Además, un 40% tuvo que abandonar sus estudios, o ni siquiera pudo iniciarlos, debido a la dificultad para seguir el ritmo o comprender los contenidos. A esto se suma que uno de cada cuatro jóvenes considera que el profesorado aún no está suficientemente preparado para atender las necesidades específicas de los alumnos/as con discapacidad.
· En el ámbito laboral, el 57% declara haber sufrido discriminación en la búsqueda de empleo: el 48% señala que sus candidaturas son ignoradas -envía su currículum y no recibe respuesta- y el 38% afirma que la discriminación se manifiesta en las entrevistas, donde las preguntas tienden a centrarse en su discapacidad y no en sus competencias.
