Expertos señalan la adopción tecnológica y la retención del talento como principales retos para mejorar la productividad de la industria española.

Barcelona, 8 de abril de 2025.- Las pequeñas compañías, que representan el principal tejido empresarial en España, presentan una productividad tres veces inferior a la de las grandes compañías, según el informe sobre Crecimiento Empresarial 2024 de CEPYME. Este dato es especialmente significativo teniendo en cuenta que, en el país, el 98% de las organizaciones son pymes, de las cuales el 94,4% son micropymes, según datos del INE.

Además de estar influenciada por el tamaño de la organización, la productividad se encuentra con otra barrera relevante: la adopción reducida de tecnologías. Solo el 12% de las empresas ha implementado la inteligencia artificial en sus procesos, como indica la Fundación Cotec. Este factor, junto a la falta de inversión en innovación y la escasa especialización técnica del personal, ha provocado una limitación en la competitividad de la industria española en un contexto marcado por las altas exigencias de los mercados.

Estas son algunas de las conclusiones recogidas en el marco del informe “Brújula desde Dentro”, impulsado ISS España, empresa líder en integración de servicios, tales como limpieza, mantenimiento, workplace y Facility Management, y creado a partir de diversas mesas de cocreación que analizan el estado actual de la industria y presentan diversas perspectivas organizadas en cinco capítulos: productividad, calidad, sostenibilidad, talento y digitalización. Este documento tiene el propósito de recopilar conocimientos internos para examinar necesidades, tendencias emergentes y estrategias innovadoras que puedan servir de referencia a otras instituciones, contribuyendo al fortalecimiento de la industria para que esté más preparada para afrontar los desafíos del futuro.

Este primer capítulo dedicado a la productividad en el sector industrial recoge las perspectivas de Henkel, Laboratorios Vilardell y VERTIOM, que han compartido ideas para elaborar un análisis integral sobre los retos actuales y oportunidades del sector industrial, donde profesionales del área aportan distintas perspectivas.

La tecnología como clave de los procesos productivos

El documento destaca el papel de la tecnología a la hora de incrementar la competitividad del sector industrial. Un elemento clave en muchos aspectos, desde la optimización de procesos hasta la reducción de costes y de tiempos de producción.

Los expertos señalan la necesidad de considerar la innovación tecnológica para mejorar los procesos productivos, con el uso de datos y la automatización como pilares fundamentales para estandarizar operaciones y reducir la variabilidad.

“La irrupción de tecnologías de vanguardia como la digitalización o la inteligencia artificial está transformando por completo el sector industrial. Gracias a su implantación se podrá impulsar la productividad a medida que se vayan incorporando en las entidades de esta área empresarial, creando procesos y formas de trabajar más efectivas que harán que la industria española gane competitividad” explica Enrique Porras, director de la Oficina Técnica en ISS España.

En los servicios generales, y gracias a tecnologías como el IoT (Internet of Things) y el Big Data, una de las estrategias destacadas es el buen mantenimiento de las instalaciones y la maquinaria. Asimismo, se ha empezado a introducir la robótica en actividades como la limpieza de entornos productivos, y se espera un crecimiento en su uso en los próximos años.

Las personas como motor de la industria

Otro punto que se pone de relieve en el informe es la necesidad de asegurar el equilibrio entre el desempeño de las personas y el uso de los recursos naturales, para generar un impacto positivo en las finanzas, la sostenibilidad y el bienestar de los equipos de trabajo.

En España, por un lado, hay escasez de profesionales cualificados en ciertas industrias, lo que obliga a las empresas a buscar talento en el extranjero. Y, por otro lado, hay una elevada rotación de empleados, que produce un impacto directo en la productividad, puesto que obliga a las organizaciones a formar personal constantemente.

“En servicios como la limpieza, que tiene una alta demanda de mano de obra, la problemática de la rotación de talento se ve amplificada por la dificultad para encontrar perfiles cualificados” ha señalado Enrique Porras. Para poder hacer frente a este reto, destaca la importancia de “crear espacios de trabajo atractivos en entornos industriales, con ambientes cómodos y ergonómicos para mejorar el clima laboral, reducir ausencias y reforzar la conexión de la plantilla humana con la empresa”.
