Madrid, 22 de julio de 2025.- Randstad, la empresa de talento líder en España y en el mundo, ha analizado el comportamiento del mercado laboral en el sector del transporte de mercancías durante el primer semestre del año. El estudio se basa en los datos del Servicio Público de Empleo Estatal (SEPE) y ofrece una radiografía del comportamiento de la contratación del sector en todas las comunidades autónomas.
Este análisis se produce en un contexto especialmente favorable para el sector del transporte de mercancías, ya que el impulso del comercio electrónico y todas las actividades relacionadas necesarias para su desarrollo, como el transporte y almacenamiento de productos, han visto incrementada su importancia en el mercado laboral.
La ocupación en el sector del transporte de mercancías aumentó un 5,7% en los seis primeros meses del año en el conjunto de España, hasta los 448.975 ocupados. Estas cifras muestran una actividad en expansión respecto al año pasado, ya que en 2024 se contrataron un total de 428.831 trabajadores, un 3,6% menos que en 2023.
“La buena marcha de la economía y el consumo está beneficiando al sector del transporte de mercancías, que en la primera parte del año está mostrando una gran dinámica con una fuerte recuperación respecto a la caída de 2024”, señala Eva Basanta, responsable de cuentas estratégicas del sector de logística y transporte de Randstad.
La contratación se dispara en Castilla-La Mancha y la Comunidad Valenciana
Por comunidades autónomas, destaca en el primer semestre la evolución de Castilla-La Mancha, que ha ganado casi 6.500 nuevos ocupados hasta sumar un total de cerca de 34.500, un 23% más que en junio de 2024. La puesta en marcha en la primera parte del año de varias plataformas logísticas en la región explica este importante incremento de empleados, el mayor en términos porcentuales del conjunto de comunidades autónomas. Le sigue en crecimiento Asturias, con un aumento de ocupados en el sector de 18,9%.
La Comunidad Valenciana también ha experimentado un fuerte aumento de empleados en el primer semestre, ya que ha ganado casi un 18% más respecto a los primeros seis meses de 2024, hasta sumar un total de 41.158 empleados. El sector del transporte de mercancías ha tenido asimismo un buen comportamiento en la Comunidad de Madrid, ya que ha ganado casi 8.500 ocupados, hasta sumar un total de 83.300, un 11,3% más que el primer semestre del año pasado. La Comunidad de Madrid se mantiene como la región que más profesionales tiene en esta actividad.
Por el contrario, otras comunidades autónomas con tradición logística y de transporte de mercancías han visto reducidos el número de ocupados, como Galicia, Aragón y el País Vasco. En Galicia, en el primer semestre, el número de ocupados ha descendido un 14,7%, hasta los 30.200, mientras que en Aragón la caída ha sido del 9,4%, hasta los 13.139. En el País Vasco, el número de profesionales que se dedican al transporte de mercancías ha disminuido un 4,1%, hasta los casi 23.300.
Integrado en el sector de la logística, el transporte de mercancías supone alrededor de la mitad de la ocupación de la actividad. La otra mitad se compone de los subsectores de almacenamiento y actividades anexas al transporte, que representa un tercio de la mano de obra, y las actividades postales y de correos.
