HPE contribuye a mitigar el impacto ambiental derivado de las crecientes necesidades tecnológicas de sus clientes a lo largo de todo el ciclo de vida de TI, gracias a un conjunto de soluciones de sostenibilidad diseñadas para dar soporte en tres áreas clave: servicios de asesoramiento y experiencia especializada, datos procesables y visibilidad sobre las infraestructuras de TI, y soluciones que optimizan el consumo energético al tiempo que fomentan el uso de energía limpia.
Durante el ejercicio fiscal 2024, HPE presentó y perfeccionó diversas herramientas, entre ellas el HPE Sustainability Insights Center, accesible desde una consola unificada en la nube HPE GreenLake. A pesar de la tendencia general del sector tecnológico hacia un mayor consumo energético, impulsada por tecnologías de computación intensiva como la inteligencia artificial, HPE logró en el ejercicio fiscal 2024 reducir su huella de carbono total en un 13% interanual, gracias también a mejoras en su porfolio de productos.
Respecto a 2020, HPE ha reducido un 34% sus emisiones operativas, gracias principalmente al aumento en el uso de electricidad renovable y a la disminución del consumo energético en sus operaciones. La compañía también ha superado su objetivo para 2025 de abastecerse con un 50% de electricidad renovable, cumpliendo esta meta por tercer año consecutivo. En 2024, HPE redujo en un 15% su intensidad de carbono interanual y limitó el incremento de emisiones totales de la compañía a tan solo un 2% por encima del nivel de referencia de 2020, pese a haber registrado un crecimiento del 12% en ingresos netos durante el mismo periodo.
