Crece la afiliación impulsada por Educación y aumentan en 58 mil los demandantes de empleo. La brecha entre paro registrado y efectivo se sitúa en 733 mil personas.
Los meses de octubre suelen caracterizarse por aumentos de la afiliación, impulsados fundamentalmente por el sector de Educación, que es, con gran diferencia, el que incrementa más sus cifras de empleo. El resto de sectores aportan un efecto conjunto muy moderado, o incluso negativo, como en este octubre de 2025. A su vez, el volumen de demandantes de empleo suele elevarse -por la salida de trabajadores de la actividad de Hostelería- y la contratación no suele presentar grandes oscilaciones respecto a septiembre.
La afiliación a la Seguridad Social en octubre de este año creció en 141.926 personas, un aumento de un 0,65%, lo que mejora el comportamiento en dicho mes de los tres años precedentes. El crecimiento interanual del empleo se acelera dos centésimas, hasta un 2,38%. La cifra total de afiliados queda situada en los 21,84 millones de personas.
La contratación disminuyó un 1,51% respecto a septiembre, con un total de 1,51 millones de contratos. En comparación con el mes anterior, se ha producido un ligero descenso de la contratación, tanto en la temporal (-0,29%) como en la indefinida (-3,11%). En términos interanuales, la temporal aumentó un 0,53% mientras que la indefinida disminuyó un 3,16%.
Los demandantes de empleo crecieron en octubre en 58.384 personas (+1,40%), mejorando lo observado en los tres octubres previos, y su cifra quedó situada en los 4,23 millones. Y los demandantes ocupados -entre los que se incluyen los que tienen un contrato fijo discontinuo en inactividad- crecieron en 38.993 personas y se situaron en los 1,23 millones. El paro registrado aumentó en 22.101 personas (+0,91%), con una mejora respecto a los dos octubres precedentes. La cifra de parados se sitúa en los 2,44 millones.
En cuanto al paro efectivo -el que se obtiene sumando al paro registrado aquellos demandantes de empleo con relación laboral, esencialmente los fijos discontinuos en inactividad y descontando los trabajadores en ERTE- se situó en el último mes en 3,15 millones, con una brecha respecto al paro registrado de 733.066 personas.
La afiliación desestacionalizada sitúa su crecimiento anual a un 2,38%.
El paro registrado descendió, en términos desestacionalizados, en 15.256 personas durante octubre, lo que pone de manifiesto que dicho mes ha sido positivo para esta variable.
La serie desestacionalizada de afiliación, según los criterios del Ministerio de Inclusión, Seguridad Social y Migraciones, ha reflejado en octubre un aumento mensual de 64.569 personas, equivalente a un incremento del 0,30%.
En términos interanuales, la afiliación desestacionalizada crece un 2,38%, lo que incrementa tres centésimas su ritmo de crecimiento interanual.
Madrid, Com. Valenciana y Andalucía lideran el aumento del empleo. Por sectores, Educación fue el que más creó y Hostelería, el que más destruyó.
La afiliación a la Seguridad Social ha aumentado en 11 de las 17 comunidades autónomas y en Ceuta. Los mayores incrementos se han medido en Madrid (+49.445), Comunidad Valenciana (+36.459) y Andalucía (+29.544). El mayor descenso, con gran diferencia, en Baleares (-34.936). El paro registrado disminuyó en todas las comunidades. Los mayores aumentos se midieron en Castilla y León (+2.545) y Andalucía (+2.535).
Por sectores, en octubre la afiliación registró su mayor aumento en Educación (+172.215), seguido a gran distancia por Construcción (+17.147). Los sectores con mayor descenso del empleo, con gran diferencia, fueron Hostelería (-53.790) y Actividades Sanitarias y Servicios Sociales (-32.580).
Indefinidos de muy corta duración: 38 mil personas firmaron más de uno en octubre.
La contratación en octubre disminuyó un 1,51% respecto al mes anterior.El descenso ha venido explicado tanto por la contratación indefinida como por la temporal.En total, en el mes de octubre se firmaron 1,51 millones de contratos.
En el caso de la contratación indefinida se firmaron 643.183 contratos en octubre, lo que supone 20.640 menos que en septiembre (-3,11%). El 40,58% de los contratos indefinidos fueron a tiempo completo, frente a un 33,22% fijos discontinuos y un 26,21% indefinidos a tiempo parcial. Por otra parte, 37.555 personas firmaron en octubre más de un contrato indefinido, lo que supone el 6% de todos aquellos que firmaron algún contrato de dicha naturaleza. Desde inicios de 2022 ha ocurrido con 1,41 millones de personas. La contratación temporal, por su parte, registró un descenso intermensual de 2.551 contratos (-0,29%).
En términos interanuales, la contratación ha decrecido un 1,08% en octubre, con aumentos en la contratación temporal (+0,53%) y descensos en la indefinida (-3,16%).
